Text Box: Mark Thursday, May 8th, at 6 pm on your calendars. This is the night to celebrate 2007/2008 Maumee Band Members and Families for this fantastic year at the annual banquet!
A survey was conducted and families asked to have a Pot Luck dinner for this event. So here we go…
In April, invitations will be mailed out and asking families to bring salads, fresh fruit, bagged munchies to add to the main course of sloppy joe and shredded chicken sandwiches. MBPO will supply the beverages, paper products, and yummy cake!
Pot Luck dinner will be held in the cafeteria, followed by awards and a recap presentation of the year in the PAC.
Any questions, please contact Bobbie Ramsey (419.351.5980) or Beth Kurtz (419.897.9990).

Text Box: me many life lessons. Marching band is a family. There is absolutely no other way to describe it than one big dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless. As a family, we look out for one another. If you were to ask any band member if this were true, they would all agree. Band has also taught me to give to others through community service. Sure, it may not be fun to stand out in the sun waiving a flag in the fair parking lot, but it helps Text Box: Four years ago, I was faced with the decision of whether or not I wanted to move on to the high school band. I love music and I had friends that were moving on so I decided to give it a go and see what would happen. Little did I know that it would be a life changing experience.
High school band has been my foundation throughout these past four years. Band has been my community and has taught Text Box: out. We can’t do what we do without this work.
To any students who is unsure about band, consider this. There is nothing like the feeling you get after you have just received straight ones at state competition and you know that you have just performed the best show of the year. If you stick out the hard work, it all pays off in the end. Give band a chance. I did and I’m glad I did. ~ Lynn Secondo
